The 2026 U.S. Women’s Open is being held at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., for the first time ever, and if you want to be a part of the championship’s illustrious history, now is your chance to choose from 26 different qualifying sites, which were released by the USGA on Wednesday.

Unlike the U.S. Open, which requires a two-part qualifier for the men (18-hole local and 36-hole final), U.S. Women’s Open hopefuls compete in just one 36-hole qualifier to determine their fate.

The 26 qualifying sites are spread across 17 states, with one site each in Canada, England and Japan. Qualifying will take place between April 20 and May 13, 2026. Online entry applications are open now, with a deadline of Wednesday, April 1, at 5 p.m. ET. In order to play, entrants must be professionals or carry a Handicap Index no higher than 2.4. Hopefuls can register to qualify at champs.usga.org.

While winning the U.S. Women’s Open as a qualifier is extremely unlikely, it has happened before. Birdie Kim won the U.S. Women’s Open at Colorado’s Cherry Hills Country Club in 2005 after advancing through qualifying. And at last year’s U.S. Women’s Open at Erin Hills in Erin, Wisc., there were 11 total qualifiers who ended up making the cut, including Hailee Cooper, who tied for seventh.
