Earlier this month the United States announced Jim Furyk would be the captain for the Ryder Cup in Ireland in 2027.
The news sparked a firestorm on social media with many calling for a new face to lead the team after the United States’ disastrous 2018 team captained by Furyk. Just a few weeks later, the United States is back with another announcement regarding Furyk and 2025 Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley.

Both will serve as assistant captains for captain Brandt Snedeker for the Presidents Cup at Medinah later this year.

“Both guys have incredible experience as leaders representing the United States, and they’ve each earned the respect of players across generations,” Snedeker said in a release.
“Jim knows exactly what it takes to lead a team to victory and Keegan’s competitive spirit and energy will be an undeniable asset for the team. I look forward to leaning on their experience and using them as a sounding board as we look toward Medinah in September.”

Furyk captained the U.S. team to a victory at the 2024 Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal. Meanwhile, Bradley will make his first appearance as a coach for the squad after winning the clinching point as a player in the 2024 Presidents Cup.
