Paris Fury has revealed she always knew her husband, Tyson Fury, would return to boxing, describing the sport as his “life’s passion” despite her personal wishes for him to step away. The 36-year-old mother of seven admitted that while she desires her husband to prioritise his health and family, she could not deny him his dream.

The boxing champion, 37, has announced his retirement from the sport on multiple occasions, only to make a comeback. His wife of nearly two decades confessed she was never truly convinced by his declarations of quitting.

Speaking to the Press Association, Ms Fury said: “I’m happy for him. It’s what he wanted, and I knew it’s what he wanted. All this time, when he kept saying he was out the ring, ‘I’m out the ring, I’m not boxing, I’m not boxing’ – I knew in the back of my mind that wouldn’t be true.”

Their eldest daughter, Venezuela, echoed her mother’s sentiment, stating: “I don’t think he ever retired.”

Ms Fury explained her attempts to encourage Tyson to explore other interests. “I kept suggesting to him, ‘why don’t you train people as a boxer? Why don’t you get involved in something that you enjoy?’,” she recounted. “He doesn’t have any hobbies. And it’s hard to take away someone’s life’s passion, and I couldn’t be the one to do it.”

She added: “I said to him so many times like, ‘oh, I wish you’d stop boxing now, you’ve done everything you need to do. You don’t need to do it anymore’. But he felt that itch, and he still wants to do it. So I’m not going to deny him that dream. He couldn’t find anything else good. No matter what we did, we couldn’t find him something he enjoyed. It’s hard. It’s hard work, a one-track mind with him.”

Beyond boxing, Ms Fury also reflected on her 16-year-old daughter Venezuela’s engagement to Noah Price, which was announced last September. While admitting a touch of sadness at how quickly it has happened, she expressed her support.

“There’s a part of me that is a little bit sad that it’s all happened so soon, because I still feel like I’m so young, and I feel like my kids… imagine my brain, they’re all babies and they’re all at home,” she shared. “But obviously, Venezuela is a young woman. She’s 16 years old. She makes her own choices in life. But on the other hand, the mirror image. I think (she is) so lucky. Like, you’ve met this person that you want to spend your life with. I did the same thing at 17.”

She concluded: “I do think it’s beautiful that she’s found what she wants.”

Discussing their fly-on-the-wall documentary series, At Home With The Furys, Ms Fury called it a “good experience” for her children, helping them build social skills and providing a platform for Venezuela’s social media and branding work.

Despite the public’s “amazing” response to the show, Ms Fury insisted the family remains grounded. “We don’t realise we are celebrities. It doesn’t click. Like, we just act totally normal. We live normal life. We aren’t really very flash.”

At Home With The Furys is set to return for its second series on Netflix on 12 April.
