With a tight leaderboard that included Rory McIlroy, the tournament saw its ratings climb a little year over year from 3.5 million viewers to 3.6 million. According to a tweet from Carpenter, that’s not as good as in 2023 when Scottie Scheffler won and the event had 4.1 million, but it was better than the 2.9 million during the 2022 event when Cam Smith won despite weather issues.

McIlroy took home $4.5 million with the win, the biggest prize on the PGA Tour. J.J. Spaun pocketed a cool $2.725 million.

As for this year’s three-hole aggregate playoff, it was over quickly as McIlroy avoided mistakes. He ripped a 336-yard driver at the par-5 16th, the first playoff hole, planted his second shot to 33 feet and two-putted for birdie to take a one-shot lead heading to the 130-yard island green.
