PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp said on Tuesday that the Tour had identified four additional Championship Series events beginning in 2028 and that they would be announced in the coming weeks. The slow trickle continued with the first of that foursome given its day to crow Wednesday.
The Tour and the Truist Championship announced that the tournament, which has been one of the existing signature events and typically is held at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, will continue as part of the top tier of events when the Tour introduced its new competitive model.

First announced in June, the Championship Series will feature the Tour’s top performers competing head-to-head across the season. There will be approximately 23-24 events, inclusive of the Players Championship, major championships, postseason and international team events (Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup), with the season running from February through August.
The Truist Championship is in its 24th year as an annual stop on the Tour and third as a signature event, returning to Quail Hollow from May 13-16.
A full PGA Tour schedule for 2028, when the Tour’s Championship Series debuts, will be announced at a later date.
