It’s on to Round 2 in Philly. The 2025 Truist Championship is being played at Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Course in Pennsylvania this week. Normally staged at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, the Truist was moved for one year because Quail Hollow next week hosts the PGA Championship.

Keith Mitchell leads after 18 holes after firing a 9-under 61. Denny McCarthy is solo second after 8-under 62. Rickie Fowler, like Mitchell in the field on a sponsor invitation, is getting the PGA prep he needs as well.
Who is the defending champion of the Truist?
Rory McIlroy has a strong track record for this tournament, having won four times when it was played at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte (2010, 2015, 2021, 2024). After 18 holes this year in Philly, McIlroy is tied for 25th after a 4-under 66.
Friday’s weather impacting tee times at Truist Championship
The PGA Tour moved Friday tee times up three hours and they plan to send threesomes off the first and 10th tees at 8 a.m. ET. There will be livestreaming all day but the golf will be completed (unless there’s a weather delay) by the time the TV window starts.

The tournament is the sixth signature event – and one of eight in all – on the PGA Tour’s 2025 schedule. The Truist is one of five that features a 72-man field and no cut. The tee times can be found here. Some of the interesting groups for Thursday’s first round include:

What is the prize money for the Truist Championship 2025?
There is $20 million in all up for grabs and since there’s no cut, everyone gets paid, from $36,000 for last place to $3.6 million to the winner.
