It’s the dog days of the NFL offseason.
Free agency, the 2026 NFL Draft, schedule release and more have all come and gone with about two months to go before training camps open across the league. To steal a baseball term, the “hot stove” has cooled as the temperature outside has turned up.

The offseason hasn’t been the most chaotic in terms of player movement, with few big names on the move this year via trade or free agency.
Regardless, the first and second waves of free agency came and went, leaving just few impact players on the open market. Aaron Rodgers and Kirk Cousins were among the last top names available, leaving a list that now includes the likes of Deebo Samuel, Tyreek Hill, Stefon Diggs and more.
Injuries, depth needs and more could open the door for these players to find a home. Whether it’s ring-chasing or playing time, the remaining free agents might not be on the board much longer.
Here’s a look at the best remaining players and other notables from USA TODAY Sports’ Nate Davis’ top 100 in NFL free agency for 2026.
Top 10 remaining NFL free agents
1. DE/OLB Joey Bosa (Previous team: Bills) | Age at start of 2026 season: 31
The story of Bosa’s career can’t be told without mentioning injuries, which have limited the 2016 Defensive Rookie of the Year’s ability to make a consistent impact year to year. Bosa’s one-year stint in Buffalo worked out nicely for the soon-to-be 31-year-old. He forced five fumbles, recorded five sacks and had 16 quarterback hits – the most since his 2021 season with the Chargers. Bosa still has something left in the tank to be a productive situational pass rusher.

2. LB Bobby Wagner (Previous team: Commanders) | Age at start of 2026 season: 36
Wagner has been remarkably durable, especially in the latter part of his career. The 10-time Pro Bowl linebacker and six-time All-Pro might’ve lost a step or two, but you wouldn’t know it at first glance. Wagner remains a tackling machine that would have no issues fitting into any defense. More importantly, the future Hall of Famer is a great leader who could instantly improve the locker room he walks into.
3. WR Stefon Diggs (Previous team: Patriots) | Age at start of 2026 season: 33
Diggs quieted any concerns about his knee injury in 2025, turning in his seventh 1,000-yard season in eight years – the one exception being the torn ACL-shortened campaign in 2024. He served as WR1 for the Patriots and was a key piece of the team that made a surprising Super Bowl appearance. Those injury concerns are a thing of the past and the same can also be said for his legal issues that emerged. Diggs was found not guilty of strangulation and assault and battery charges, which could open the door to him signing at some point.

4. WR Deebo Samuel (Previous team: Commanders) | Age at start of 2026 season: 30
Samuel made a living with his physical tools, starring as a jack-of-all-trades in Kyle Shanahan’s offense. A chess piece that could be deployed all over the field, that wasn’t the case for the receiver in 2025, who couldn’t recapture the magic for Kliff Kingsbury’s offense.
5. DE/OLB Jadeveon Clowney (Previous team: Cowboys) | Age at start of 2026 season: 33
Clowney has been in the league for 12 seasons and remains on the open market in search of the squad that will give him lucky No. 13. He posted 8½ sacks and 12 quarterback hits for the Cowboys in 2025 despite playing in just 13 games.

6. LT Taylor Decker (Previous team: Lions) | Age at start of 2026 season: 33
A mainstay on the left side of the Lions’ offensive line, Decker is after a new opportunity in free agency. The tackle requested and was granted his release from Detroit. He did consider retirement thanks to a shoulder injury, but there is no denying that Decker’s toughness and experience would be a boost to his next team.
7. G Kevin Zeitler (Previous team: Titans) | Age at start of 2026 season: 36
The Pro Bowl guard has bounced around with three teams in the last three seasons, but he remains a durable option for any team in need of offensive line help.

8. CB Rasul Douglas (Previous team: Dolphins) | Age at start of 2026 season: 31
Douglas might be on the wrong side of 30, but the big corner bounced back in 2025 and shouldn’t require a big monetary commitment to sign. When injuries inevitably pop up in training camp and the preseason, Douglas should have no issues finding a job.
9. TE Jonnu Smith (Previous team: Steelers) | Age at start of 2026 season: 31
Expectations were high for Smith coming off a career-year in 2024 with the Dolphins. The tight end struggled following his trade to Pittsburgh and recorded just 222 receiving yards in 17 games. It was a crowded position group for the Steelers, which could mean Smith is poised to reemerge in 2026 with a new team.

10. WR Keenan Allen (Previous team: Chargers) | Age at start of 2026 season: 34
Allen is longer at the height of his powers, but the 34-year-old remains a quality NFL receiver who just knows how to get open. He finished with 81 catches, 777 yards and four touchdowns after returning to the Chargers in 2025. Allen could be a ring-chasing candidate, but he will be a quarterback-friendly weapon wherever he lands.
