Smoke Is Getting Back Behind the Wheel
Tony Stewart is getting back behind the wheel of a NASCAR truck.
The three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion will return to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series on October 23 at Talladega Superspeedway, driving the No. 25 Kaulig Racing Ram 1500 as part of Ram’s Free Agent Driver Program.

The Talladega race will mark Stewart’s second Truck Series start of the 2026 season. He previously returned to NASCAR competition at Daytona International Speedway in February, marking his first NASCAR national series start since 2016.
Unfortunately for Stewart, his Daytona return ended early after an incident involving Jake Garcia sent his truck into the wall. Stewart completed just 39 laps and finished 36th.
Now, “Smoke” gets another opportunity and this time, it will come at one of NASCAR’s biggest and fastest tracks.
A New Challenge at Talladega
Stewart has plenty of experience at Talladega, including victories in both the Cup Series and what was then the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. However, this will be his first Truck Series start at the 2.66-mile superspeedway.

For Stewart, the goal isn’t simply about chasing another trophy. He said the Talladega race will be an opportunity to have fun while helping Kaulig Racing and Ram continue developing their superspeedway package.
That makes his experience particularly valuable as Ram continues its return to NASCAR competition.
NASCAR Fans Get Smoke Again
Stewart’s return to Daytona generated plenty of attention, and his second start gives NASCAR fans another chance to watch one of the sport’s most recognizable drivers compete.
At 55, Stewart is still competing full-time in NHRA Top Fuel, but the opportunity to jump back into a NASCAR truck was too good to pass up.
Now, he’ll take on Talladega.
And if there’s one thing NASCAR fans know about Tony Stewart, it’s that you can never count out “Smoke” when he gets back behind the wheel.
