It was Kim’s first PGA Tour victory since he won the 2023 Shriners Children’s Open.

Checking on his messages following his success on Sunday, Kim revealed that he got a text from none other than Tiger Woods, his TGL teammate.

“Obviously, on TGL, being on Tiger’s team, I’ve been able to ask him questions on certain things,” Kim told reporters during a press conference after his win (h/t Golf Digest).

Added Tom Kim on Woods: “He’s been really helpful a lot of the time. You know, this was my first win in three years, and the first person that texted me was Tiger Woods. Shows you the person he is and how much he cares.”

Woods is still away from competitive golf, deciding to take a break from the sport after his March DUI arrest in Florida. But he certainly has not forgotten to keep tabs on what’s happening in the PGA Tour.

Kim had a strong fourth round to get the job done in the tournament, carding a 6-under 64 on Sunday and finishing 17-under 263 in the event. Min Woo Lee was the runner-up with a 15-under 265, while Johnny Keefer, Robert MacIntyre and Matt Fitzpatrick tied for third with 13-under 267 each.

So far in the 2026 PGA Tour season, Kim has five top 25s and two top 5s in 17 starts.
