The No. 9 has been unlucky this week at The Players Championship.
A day after Keegan Bradley made a quadruple-bogey 9 at the par-5 11th hole of the Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, Tom Hoge matched the number but exceeded the shot value of the hole by one. He made a quintuple-bogey 9 at the par-4 seventh hole in the second round on March 13, part of a 5-over 41 on the front nine that included two birdies, two bogeys and four pars.

It wasn’t the record high score at No. 7. That still belongs to Andy Bean, who made a 10 there in the first round of the 1992 tournament.

He tied for third again last year with a final-round 66 that left him two shots out of the Rory McIlroy-J.J. Spaun playoff.
