Woods described what happened from his perspective: “I looked down at my phone, and all of a sudden, boom.” The video was first publicized by TMZ.

On Friday afternoon, Woods’ vehicle collided with the trailer of a pickup truck along a narrow road on Jupiter Island, Florida. Woods’ SUV rolled over onto its driver’s side, and Woods climbed out of the passenger side. After officers at the scene observed him acting “lethargic,” he was arrested and taken to Martin County jail. He refused a urinalysis at the jail, and was charged with DUI and failure to submit to a lawful test.
Woods announced earlier this week that he was seeking treatment for his personal issues, and removed himself from consideration for the captain of the 2027 Ryder Cup team. His attorney has asked for permission for Woods to leave the country to seek treatment, citing privacy concerns.
