Augusta National is one of the most challenging golf courses on the planet, especially for the amateur golfers who are lucky enough to play there.
Sure, many of the professionals make Augusta National look easy at times throughout Masters week.

However, plenty of them are made to look downright silly as well by the undulating greens and the unforgiving false fronts that protect them.
Rory McIlroy triumphed at The Masters on Sunday for the second year in a row as Augusta National once again failed to disappoint.

Even McIlroy had trouble at times throughout the weekend at Augusta.

What a five-handicapper shot at Augusta National after The Masters
Interestingly, Rafa Nadal shot a 72 from the members tees at Augusta National recently.
The tennis legend is a plus one-handicap golfer and he actually shot an 80 from the tournament tees as well.

Every year at The Masters, Augusta National perform what they call a ‘media lottery’.
Hundreds and hundreds of media members flood Augusta National throughout Masters week.
All of their names are entered into a draw and fewer than 30 are given the chance to play the golf course the day after The Masters finishes.
Back in 2018, Erik Anders Lang – a content creator and founder of the Random Golf Club YouTube channel – was one of the lucky media members to be handed the opportunity of a lifetime.
Anders Lang, a five-handicap golfer, played Augusta National the day after Patrick Reed won The Masters eight years ago.

After making a birdie on his first hole, Anders Lang made bogeys on the second, third and fourth holes.

He then made a double bogey on the par-four fifth before parring six, seven and eight. He then ended his front nine with a bogey on the ninth hole.
On the back nine, he made one bogey on the 11th, a triple bogey on the 12th and a double bogey on the 15th.
Anders Lang parred all the rest of the holes and carded a really respectable score of 11-over-par 83 from the members tees.
Erik Anders Lang will remember playing Augusta National the day after The Masters finished in 2018 for the rest of his life.
While his score was immaterial, he would have been delighted to post such a respectable number.
