When the Miami Dolphins kicked off voluntary OTAs last week, everyone was in attendance except for star running back De’Von Achane. Jeff Hafley downplayed Achane’s absence as being nothing more than ‘part of the business,’ but it definitely got the attention of Miami’s new regime.

Flash forward to yesterday afternoon, when Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan met with the media to discuss the 2026 NFL draft and answered an array of questions parlayed at him by the South Florida media.

When asked whether or not the team had any interest in trading Achane, Miami’s new GM didn’t mince any words, doubling down on the team’s commitment to their 24-year-old playmaker.

“He’s not available for trade”, Sullivan said. “Things are going good…We had some positive conversations over the last couple of days… It’s trending in the right direction. He’s obviously very important to what we’re doing. It’s all part of professional sports. We’ll get to where we need to be one way or another, but we’ll get to where we want to be.”

That message was received loud and clear from Achane and his camp.

Miami Dolphins RB De’Von Achane was spotted at the team’s training facility, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

On Thursday, with the NFL draft roughly eight days away, Achane was spotted in Miami Gardens at the Dolphins team facility, according to ESPN’s national NFL reporter, Adam Schefter.

What this means for contract talks can only be speculated at this time, but it certainly looks like good news for both the Dolphins and Achane.
