He will tee off alone on both days as he competes to advance in the FedEx Cup by finishing this weekend’s event in the top 50.

Koivun earned his first playoff bid by grabbing the final slot, No. 70, in the FedEx Cup standings, doing so just five events into his professional career. He has turned in two top-10 finishes, including the 3M Open win, his first PGA win just three events into his professional tenure.

Since winning the 3M Open last month, he has produced two straight top-35 finishes, shooting eight under par in both events.

PGA Tour mainstays Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Gary Woodland, Wyndham Clark, and Scotty Scheffler will compete alongside Koivun in this weekend’s event, needing to finish in the top 50 to move on to next weekend’s BMW Championship.

The field shrinks to 30 competitors for the final event of the FedEx Cup playoffs later this month, when a champion will be crowned at the Tour Championship in Atlanta, Georgia.
