It all comes down to Sunday at the 20th edition Solheim Cup, as the U.S. and the European squads are all tied up 8-8 in the Netherlands.
After two days of exhilarating team match-play competitions, the final day at Bernardus Golf consists of 12 singles matches on Sunday. The head-to-head competition between the best of the best will decide which team takes home the trophy for their nation.

The score going into the final session has been tied only six times in Solheim Cup history and in those instances the home team has a 5-0-1 advantage, whereas a team with the lead going into the final day of singles competition has a cumulative record of 9-4-0.
In the previous 19 tournaments, the U.S. has held the lead only four times going into the final day and has won each time. The European squad on the other hand has a 5-4 record of winning it all when they’ve led going into Sunday at Solheim.
The 2015 Solheim Cup was the last time a team took home the trophy despite trailing going into the final day of competition and that also happens to be the last time the U.S. won abroad. That year, Team USA trailed 10-6 in Germany but won the cumulative singles matches, 8.5 to 3.5, and won the Cup, 14.5 to 13.5.
If history tells us anything, it’s that the final day of singles matches should produce some fireworks, especially with the fiery matchups ahead.
