Things in Brad Dalke’s life haven’t been going so good lately. As a result, the YouTube golfer announced on Thursday that he is stepping away from his role with Good Good Golf to concentrate on spending more time with his family.
In a 19-minute video posted on social media on Thursday, Dalke detailed how his wife, Abbie, has been dealing with a number of health issues.

The couple endured two miscarriages last year and Abbie had an ocular stroke in early December that induced temporary blindness and left her with permanent vision loss in her left eye. Tests revealed that her stroke was the result of a hole in her heart, for which she underwent surgery on June 1.

“I just feel like I didn’t live up to par when it comes to being a husband for Abbie throughout this whole process, and that kills me inside,” Dalke said. “In this life in general, but also in this industry, you can get pulled in so many different directions. You have to film here, you have this obligation here, you got to go golf with someone here. You have to do all these things, and I just want to be centered with Abbie. I want to be centered with our future family. I just want to spend time with my wife and be present with my wife, because if there’s anything these last eight months have taught me, it’s that life can change in the blink of an eye, and I don’t want to let that pass because I was traveling … She’s my girl. She’s my everything. She’s my rock. I hate the fact that she has to go through all of this, and I hate the fact she has had to go through a lot of this a lot of the time without her husband. I don’t want that to happen again.”
Dalke, a former member of the University of Oklahoma national-championship-winning golf team, spent three years with Good Good Golf. He won the inaugural Barstool Sports Open and will appear in the forthcoming re-launch of Golf Channel’s Big Break. Dalke said that he and his wife will still go to Germany next month for the DP World Tour’s BMW International Open, which extended a sponsor invite to him. Dalke also has accepted sponsor invites to the PGA Tour’s Rocket Classic and Good Good Championship, a new event on the PGA Tour schedule, but he didn’t confirm if he would still be competing in those events.

Time will tell what Dalke does next in golf but for now, he certainly seems to have his priorities in order.
