Shakur Stevenson returns to action, as the New Jersey-born fighter defends the WBC lightweight title against William Zepeda. The Ring III event, emanating from Louis Armstrong Stadium in Flushing, airs on DAZN.
Holding gold in multiple divisions before turning 30, Stevenson (23-0) has the skills to be boxing’s biggest star. His defensive style has resulted in a few detractors. However, the results of his fights are all that matter to him.
Stevenson may attempt to surprise his opponent and everyone watching on fight night.
“I’m locked in, I’m ready, I’m focused, I can’t wait to show off… You’ll have to wait and see. I can’t wait to touch his chin,” Stevenson said.
The interim champion, Zepeda (33-0), has 27 wins via knockout. He’s ready to rush forward like he did against Joseph Diaz, Maxi Hughes, and Tevin Farmer.
Stevenson acts as the co-main event under Edgar Berlanga vs. Hamzah Sheeraz. Can he impress Turki Alalshikh, as well as his fans and critics?
