The Lega Serie A will decide on the kickoff dates for Inter Milan and Napoli’s final matches of the season tomorrow.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri are still very much hoping to bump the fixtures forward.

Inter Milan and Napoli play their penultimate matches of the season this evening.

The Nerazzurri take on Lazio at the San Siro. Meanwhile, the Partenopei travel to Emilia-Romagna to face Parma.

Should Inter get a result against the Biancocelesti today, then the race for the Serie A title will definitely go down to the final day of the season.

Inter take on Como away in their final match of the campaign. Meanwhile, Napoli host Cagliari.

If Inter and Napoli were to theoretically finish level on points at the top of the table, then the two sides would face off in a head-to-head playoff for the title.

And squeezing that in could prove to be tricky.

That is because of the fact that Inter play in the Champions League final at the end of the month. They take on Paris Saint-Germain in Munich on May 31st.

Therefore, Inter hardly want to be in a situation where they need to play Napoli for the title just a few days before they take on PSG.

As such, the league could bump Inter and Napoli’s matches against Como and Cagliari respectively to this week, rather than having them kick off next weekend.

That would leave room for a potential playoff to be played next Sunday. Nearly a full week before the Champions League final.

Tuttosport report that the Lega Serie A will decide on whether or not to do this tomorrow.

If Inter are to lose to Lazio this evening, and Napoli beat Parma, it will be a moot point.

However, otherwise, a playoff would be a possibility. Therefore, Inter would certainly want to get that out of the way as soon as possible.

On the other hand, Napoli will not be keen on moving the final match of the season forward.
