Sergio Garcia left the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf on fairly poor terms back in 2022.

Garcia’s career in the professional game has been littered with controversy, especially over the past 13 years.

The Spaniard’s ill-advised comments about Tiger Woods back in 2013 put him in hot water, and rightfully so.

Since his Masters win in 2017, Sergio Garcia has mostly hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons, namely his childish on-course behavior.

The 46-year-old has unquestionably tarnished his legacy over the past few years.

Garcia recently insisted that he had full faith in LIV Golf, but that was before PIF released a statement confirming that they would be pulling their financial backing of the league from the end of this season onwards.

Sergio Garcia delivers verdict on communication from LIV leadership

On Thursday, Thomas Detry criticized the LIV Golf hierarchy for what he described as ‘poor communication’ from them regarding the current situation.

However, Garcia clearly has a very different opinion on the matter.

Not much emotion at all, because the main core of LIV were talking to us and were telling us exactly what is going on,” the 46-year-old insisted.

Not everything that you read in the media is true. We know that and at the end of the day we are excited about where we are going.

We have a good season ahead and then probably a few changes here and there and we keep moving forward.

It was good (the tone of the meeting with LIV leadership). We were talking about where the league is at the moment and some of the options moving forward.
