Defensive tackle Aaron Donald won’t be in the Rams’ lineup when they take the field against the 49ers in Melbourne, Australia this week, but defensive end Myles Garrett will be on hand.

After head coach Sean McVay announced that Donald will not travel with the team for the season opener, he confirmed that Garrett is “ready to go” for his Rams debut. Garrett returned to practice on Sunday after missing time with a knee injury.

“He’s looked great,” McVay said, via the team’s website. “We’ve been smart with Myles, like I’ve kind of told you guys, but his impact has been tremendous, his overall vibe, what kind of teammate he’s been. And so looking forward to getting him out there with the guys and being a great factor for us.”

The Rams will have to wait at least another week to see what the Donald/Garrett duo looks like, but they’ll get their first chance to experience life with Garrett in a couple of days.
