The Seattle Seahawks wrapped up their first weekend of training camp with another public practice. As was the case for Saturday, Sunday’s practice was sold out, as fans got a glimpse of the Super Bowl champions gearing up for their “run it forward” season.

Dante Fowler Jr practices for first time
The Seahawks’ free agent pickup at the edge rusher position sat out Saturday’s practice for precautionary reasons. He was available and practicing on Sunday, getting some work in with the second-team defensive unit. Friend of the site and Seahawksdraftblog.com guest columnist Curtis Allen was on the scene with his observations.
Seahawks work their first-round running back
You might have seen in The Feed some footage of Jadarian Price dropping passes in drills. Well before you declare him a bust, remember that it’s barely the opening phase of training camp. As Tacoma News Tribune’s Gregg Bell noted, Price, whose Notre Dame career saw him scarcely used as a receiver, was involved with the starters, 2s, and 3s in his second camp. If you want him getting pass-catching reps, he’s getting that experience.
D’Anthony Bell effectively filling in for Nick Emmanwori
As Emmanwori recovers from ankle surgery, someone has to play that “big nickel” role. For now, that responsibility falls on D’Anthony Bell, the special teams standout who has some starting safety experience from his time with the Cleveland Browns. Bell returned to Seattle after he was snapped up off waivers late last season by the Carolina Panthers. Luckily for him, the Seahawks still gave him a Super Bowl ring.
Something happened to Irv Charles
Irv Charles, who was brought over to Seattle via trade, is trying to make the roster through his special teams abilities. There was no Mike Macdonald presser, so no injury updates. Curtis Allen noted that Charles left practice with a trainer but returned sans helmet, so hopefully it’s nothing serious for him.
Quote of the day: Julian Love learns more about Mike Macdonald
The Seahawks’ star safety said he learns something new everyday about head coach Mike Macdonald. When asked to expand on that, Love’s response confirmed that Coach Macdonald knows ball… basketball, that is.
“He’s good. His team meeting was on point today. Talking about the early Bulls teams, like the ‘91 team and how they got over the hump. The idea of [Michael] Jordan being the scoring champ for years before that, but still not getting over that hump of the [Detroit] Pistons. Him being selfless enough to dial it back a little bit and understand that ‘We’ gets the job done. When you start to play team ball that Phil Jackson incorporated, that’s when you see the good stuff happening. The new little nugget he gave to us was that ‘12 as One’ is real. The more we dive into and invest into each other, the more we’ll receive out of this whole deal. It’s a cool little nugget.”
Highlight of the day: Cooper Kupp with the diving one-handed catch!
What do the kids say? “Unc still got it” or something like that? Coop still got it.
“That’s Cooper Kupp for you,” Jaxon Smith-Njigba said. “Great concentration with the left hand diving. You don’t see that often. He makes it regular and brushes it off, but it’s a spectacular play and something he has in his arsenal, still has in his arsenal.”
The Seahawks will have a Monday practice without fans in attendance, before another open practice on Tuesday, July 28.
