Scottie Scheffler is currently sitting seven shots back of the lead heading into the weekend at the Cadillac Championship.
Scheffler has been nowhere near his best, but he still managed to post rounds of 71 and 67 to end up in a tie for sixth after 36 holes at the Cadillac Championship.

The 29-year-old world number one has experienced a challenging 2026 PGA Tour season so far.
Scottie Scheffler has really struggled at times, yet he has still compiled a list of results that most players could only dream of.
In eight starts, the man from Dallas, Texas, has recorded one win, two runner-up finishes and five top-fives.

Scheffler will be trying to chase down Cam Young at the Cadillac Championship this weekend, and we all know he is more than capable of doing just that.
However, is his game in good enough shape to mount a charge at the Cadillac Championship over the final 36 holes?

Scheffler responded when asked how sharp he feels his game has been so far this week at Trump National Doral.
“I felt like I gave myself more looks today than I had yesterday, especially on the back nine. Keep doing that over the course of the next couple days I think I’ll be in a decent spot,“ the world number one said.
“Yeah, the only hole I can really think I struggled for par on was maybe the 17th hole.
“Outside of that I gave myself a lot of looks. If I hole a few more of those it’s a little bit of a different day. So some good stuff overall.

“Definitely gave myself some more looks (than Thursday), but I don’t know if it was the driving or iron play. I don’t know if I had more opportunities, but I felt like I’m hitting it solid. I felt like I struck it well both days.“

Scheffler will still be hopeful of overtaking Cam Young and winning for the second time on the PGA Tour this season.
However, improvements will definitely be required from the 29-year-old.
Scottie Scheffler’s stats through 36 holes of the Cadillac Championship
Scheffler’s ball-striking has actually been very good, in spite of a few ungainly passes at the golf ball during the first two rounds in Miami.
He is ranked 12th in strokes gained off the tee and eighth in strokes gained approach after 36 holes of the Cadillac Championship.
However, his chipping, pitching and putting haven’t been up to his usual high standards.

Scottie Scheffler is ranked tied for sixth in strokes gained total through 36 holes of the Cadillac Championship this week.
He has gained 4.667 strokes combined on the field in all of the main statistical categories.
However, he will definitely need to sharpen up his short game and putting over the course of the weekend if he is to have any chance of winning the tournament.
