Scottie Scheffler’s truly exceptional 2026 season on the PGA Tour carried on at the Cadillac Championship last week.
Despite receiving criticism for his form in 2026, Scheffler still has a win and six top-five finishes to his name in just nine events.

The 29-year-old has made every cut this season, and hasn’t missed weekend golf for 73 consecutive events now.
Scottie Scheffler also hasn’t finished outside the top-25 on the PGA Tour since August 2024.
Had Scheffler got off to better starts on the PGA Tour this season, he would almost certainly have won three or four times already in 2026.

It feels like we, as golf fans, have become numb to Scottie Scheffler’s brilliance over the past few years.
The fact that golf fans and journalists are not praising the Dallas native to the hilt for three consecutive runner-up finishes proves just how high our expectations are of him.

As far as golf fans are concerned, it’s literally a case of win, or you’ve failed for the 29-year-old world number one.
Scottie Scheffler equals PGA Tour feat last managed by Sergio Garcia
Despite receiving flack for not being at his peerless best so far in 2026, the 20-time PGA Tour winner is still producing levels of golf that we haven’t seen in a very long time.
He may have been disappointed with his runner-up finish at the Cadillac Championship last week.
However, he made a little bit of history by finishing second to Cam Young at Trump National Doral.
Scheffler has become the first man to record three consecutive runner-up finishes since Sergio Garcia did it in 2014.

The now LIV Golf player secured three straight second place finishes 12 years ago at the Travelers Championship, The Open Championship and the Bridgestone Invitational.

However, Scheffler’s feat is actually even more impressive than Garcia’s was back in 2014.
That’s because the Spaniard only had one solo second in that run of three consecutive runner-up finishes, while the American has finished second on his own in three straight tournaments.
Scottie Scheffler deserves huge praise for his results in 2026
Scheffler is producing truly remarkable levels of consistency right now.
And he’s quite simply not getting the praise that he deserves for that.
Golf fans expect the 29-year-old from Dallas to win every single time that he tees it up on the PGA Tour.
That’s no surprise because he does have 20 wins to his name since February 2022, including four major championships.

However, it’s time that we all took a step back and appreciated Scottie Scheffler for the levels he has been producing on the PGA Tour this season.
He may well not have been at his best but surely that is even more frightening for his rivals, given the set of results that he has produced.
