Mother Nature has already impacted the 2025 Ryder Cup festivities and the first tee shot has yet to be hit.
Much of the NYC metro — including Farmingdale where Bethpage is located — dealt with off-and-on thunderstorms all day Thursday, forcing the final day of the Junior Ryder Cup to remain at Nassau Country Club about 20 miles away. The last session of the Junior Ryder Cup was supposed to be played at Bethpage, but the weather threw a wrench in those plans.
Now, it’s time for the main event. The Ryder Cup begins Friday morning, with the opening session of foursomes matches set to tee off shortly after 7 a.m. ET. Fortunately for them, the forecast is looking more favorable than it did Thursday.
What’s the weather forecast for Friday at the 2025 Ryder Cup?
The rain and thunderstorms will give way to drier conditions in the early hours of Friday morning. The forecast from NBC 4 in New York is calling for cloudy conditions with a very low chance of precipitation and a high temperature around 80 degrees Friday.
Typically, Ryder Cup events are quite cold in the mornings, but that doesn’t look like it will be the case this year at Bethpage Black. Skies will remain cloudy throughout according to forecasters, trapping the moisture and heat and keeping low temperatures above 60 degrees all weekend.
As long as the rain stays away Friday as expected, it figures to be absolutely perfect for both the golfers and fans, save for some mud on the ground.
