Ryan Garcia has revealed the huge amount he is set receive for fighting Rolly Romero on May 2 at Times Square, New York.

In his first fight back from suspension, ‘KingRy’ Garcia indicated his next fight purse will more than $15million, further answering “around there” for the $20million mark when playing a game of higher or lower in an interview on YouTube.

To put it into perspective, British rivals Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn are expected to earn £18million between them, with Eubank receiving £10million as the A-side and Benn pocketing £8million.

When Anthony Joshua defeated Wladimir Klitschko in their epic encounter at Wembley Stadium in London, he made $17million.

So, it seems like Garcia’s purse sounds a little inflated for what is sure to be a spectacle but not considered as a top-rated fight.

However, in his last fight, he reportedly earned $50million!

The 26-year-old from California hasn’t fought since his career-best win over former undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney in April 2024. Garcia floored his long-term rival in three of the rounds but the victory was later overturned to a No Decision after he was found with PEDS in his system.

Ryan tested positive for the selective estrogen receptor modulator clomifene in two separate drug tests.

Haney will share the bill with his bitter rival on the same card. Devin ‘The Dream’ will face former unified super-lightweight titleholder Jose Ramirez.

If both enemies, Garcia and Haney, can win their respective bouts, then the plan is for them to stage a huge rematch in Saudi Arabia before the end of the year.
