The 3rd annual Rosie Pro-Am will be held Monday, May 4 at the Old Marsh Golf Club. Sponsored by dozens of local golf clubs and business leaders with ties to Hall of Fame golf writer Tim Rosaforte, the tournament is seeking to raise $250,000 to continue and expand college scholarships for First Tee Florida Gold Coast, the Evans Caddie Scholars Foundation and the University of Rhode Island.
Money raised will add to the $400,000 the Rosie Pro-Am committee has awarded to 11 scholars and charitable grants in the last two years.

“We are grateful to the members and professional staffs of Old Marsh and the Floridian National, sponsors Peter Millar, Titleist, Tremont, Titos, and the Florida golf community for sponsoring the 3rd annual Rosie Pro-Am,” said PGA Professional Jack Druga of the Evans Scholars Foundation, who continues to spearhead the tournament.

Jack Nicklaus had a lot of respect for the late Tim Rosaforte
“Tim was a vice-chairman of the First Tee and one of our biggest supporters,” said Carl Mistretta, Executive Director of First Tee Florida Gold Coast. “It is heartwarming to recognize Isabella Cecere at Delaware, Jacie Goodman at Michigan, Daniela Perez at FAU and Bill Reid at Palm Beach Atlantic as our Rosie Scholars.”

Rosaforte, a former Palm Beach Post golf writer and award-winning television journalist, died on Jan. 11, 2022 at 66 after a two-year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
“Tim would be so happy that kids are being influenced and encouraged through this event,” said his wife, Genevieve Rosaforte, who again will participate with her family. “We are all proud that his legacy lives on, but there are also bittersweet feelings of not having him here.”
