Roma were forced to take Paulo Dybala off the pitch during their Europa League play-off against FC Porto after a knee injury was caused by a nasty foul.
La Joya had been in the starting XI at the Estadio do Dragao and was able to force a save with an angled drive.
However, he was kicked just under the left knee by a very high Alan Varela boot on 20 minutes and required treatment for quite a while.
Dybala continued, but eventually had to limp off following more ministrations from the medical staff at the 39th minute.

The Argentina international made way for Tommaso Baldanzi in the 3-4-2-1 formation, supporting Lorenzo Pellegrini and Artem Dovbyk.

It is a worrying sign for Roma, who have a Serie A trip to Parma coming up on Sunday, then the second leg of the Europa League play-off at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday February 20.
Dybala has contributed six goals and three assists in 29 competitive games so far this season, but only one assist in the Europa League.
