Daniele Ghilardi has reportedly accepted the proposal from Roma, so they hope to get a deal done with Hellas Verona for €10m.
It had been suggested last week by Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio that an initial approach had been made for the defender.
Now Retesport maintain that the player is enthusiastic about the possible transfer to the Stadio Olimpico, and Roma believe they can get a fee agreed with his club for circa €10m.
Ghilardi expected to have future in Italy squad

The 22-year-old is a regular for Italy at Under-21 level and had already been linked with a move to Real Betis, but he would prefer to remain in Serie A.
Originally in the Fiorentina youth academy, Ghilardi went to Verona in 2022 and then had loan experiences with Mantova and Sampdoria.
The centre-back made 24 Serie A appearances for Verona last season, helping them maintain their top flight status.
