Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has shown his talent on superspeedway tracks in the NASCAR Cup Series and Talladega Superspeedway was no different. Stenhouse was upfront in the Final Stage and finished in sixth place. However, it didn’t come without concerns, and it was directed toward Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott.
Near the end of the Cup Series race at Talladega, Stenhouse’s spotter, Clayton Hughes, warned the driver of the No. 47 car about Elliott. The driver of the No. 9 car was pushing Stenhouse, and the No. 47 team didn’t trust his actions at the end of the event.

“We just have to watch [Chase Elliott], Hughes said. “You know he’ll be selfish here at the end.”
Most drivers are selfish toward the end of superspeedway races, but this message feels more directed toward Elliott. The Hendrick Motorsports driver is one of the best superspeedway drivers in NASCAR, winning several races in the Cup Series. Elliott did stick with Stenhouse at Talladega; however, he did pull out of line heading to the checkered flag like most of the drivers.
