Sky Sport Italia claim Mario Gila has agreed personal terms with Milan worth €5m per season, while Lazio are ready to accept a fee of €25m plus €5m add-ons.

The defender is out of contract in July 2027, so the Aquile are forced to sell this summer before losing him as a free agent.

There has been strong interest from Napoli for months, but the need to sell first has stalled their ability to get a deal over the line.

The same is true of Inter, who have many other alternatives, while Sportitalia reported today that Atalanta had agreed a fee with Lazio worth €25m, but the player preferred other clubs.

Now Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio announces that a deal is practically done with Milan, with the player accepting the personal terms proposed in a meeting with his agents last night.

It is set to be a five-year contract worth €5m per season net in wages.

Lazio are set to also accept the €25m proposal, plus a further €5m in potential add-ons.

Gila turns 26 next month and came to Lazio from Real Madrid for €6m in the summer of 2022.
