According to Liverpool Echo, the Reds did make contact over Akliouche earlier in the window as part of their assessment of right-sided options. That matters, because it confirms the interest was real. It also matters that nothing has moved since. In transfer terms, that usually tells you plenty.

From an anxious Liverpool fan’s perspective, this all feels a bit familiar. There is logic to waiting for Bradley Barcola, yes, but logic does not always get transfers done. Other clubs move fast, circumstances change, agents get involved, and suddenly the ideal plan collapses. That is the worry here.
Akliouche sounds like a genuine option, but if Liverpool have effectively parked that one, then they are narrowing their own room for error. Supporters will ask a fair question, if Barcola is difficult and PSG are still juggling their squad, why not push harder on the alternative before the market shifts again?
The concern is not about talent identification. Liverpool’s recruitment has usually been strong. The concern is execution. Fans have seen windows where the club seemed to wait for one specific opening, only for time to disappear and options to dry up.
