MJF could be working two jobs for the time being after making his return to AEW at WrestleDream on Saturday night.

Per Fightful Select (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), MJF told people backstage during the show that he would be returning to film more scenes for Happy Gilmore 2 after the pay-per-view.

The former AEW champion had been off television since his match with Daniel Garcia at All Out. Even though MJF won the bout, they did an injury angle afterward with Garcia giving him a piledriver off the ropes to write him out of storylines.

Following Jack Perry’s successful defense of the TNT title against Katsuyori Shibata, Garcia came out to help Shibata. This led to MJF making his return and attacking Garcia.

When MJF was preparing to hit Garcia with the dynamite diamond ring, Adam Cole made his long-awaited return to confront his former tag team partner to set up a feud between the two going forward.

MJF was cast in an undisclosed role in the sequel to the 1996 Adam Sandler comedy. Video was released on Oct. 4 showing him filming scenes with Sandler outside of a court house.

Golf legend John Daly and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce are among the athletes and celebrities who are confirmed to have cameo appearances in the movie.

It’s unclear how much time is left on MJF’s filming schedule for the movie. There’s no indication whether or not he will remain off AEW television for the time being, but with Full Gear scheduled for Nov. 23, it would be seem like he will be back on Dynamite sooner than later.

Happy Gilmore 2 will be the second major motion picture that MJF has filmed scenes for. He had a small role and was an executive producer for The Iron Claw about the Von Erich wrestling family, but his scene was cut from the final edit.
