As the start of the 2026-27 season approaches with every passing day, Real Madrid continue to work to provide their new coach, Jose Mourinho, with a highly competitive team. The Merengues have already completed four new signings, and are now reportedly on the verge of completing another blockbuster move for the RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande.
For now, none of the four signings made by Los Blancos has joined up with the team, as they are still enjoying their holidays after the World Cup. However, the club is working to complete their integration processes. In this regard, they registered one of these new players, Denzel Dumfries, with La Liga on 18 July.

Now, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, they have also registered another of their new players, Marc Cucurella, today, on Monday. For the Spanish fullback’s registration, Real Madrid did not have to pay the €57,809 fee that is usually required when signing players from another league. This fee is required only for players who have not played in La Liga before, but Cucurella had already been registered with La Liga while playing for Getafe.
However, the Merengues still had to pay the €1268.50 fee that is required for a first team player license, which would add to the €55 million they have already paid in fixed transfer fee to Chelsea. Furthermore, Los Blancos have also promised another €5 million in variables to the Blues.
With Dumfries’ registration, Real Madrid became the first top-flight club to register a new signing with La Liga this summer. As things stand, only four players have been registered by first divisions clubs in Spain so far. Two from Real Madrid, namely, Denzel Dumfries and Marc Cucurella, and another two from Espanyol, namely, Cala and Quilindschy Hartman. The rest of the clubs are yet to register their new players.
