In recognition of his dominant performances against the Boston Bruins and the Chicago Blackhawks last week, Nashville Predators goaltender Juuse Saros was named the NHL’s “Second Star” for the week ending Oct. 27.

Saros was honored alongside Vegas Golden Knights captain Mark Stone and former Predators forward Matt Duchene of the Dallas Stars, the NHL’s First and Third Stars of the Week, respectively.

Saros stopped 60 of the 62 shots he faced during the week of Oct. 21-27, going 2-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average, .968 save percentage and one shutout to help lift the Predators to their first pair of wins after starting the season 0-5-0.

Saros made 33 saves, including 24 over the final two periods alone, for his 24th career shutout in a 4-0 win over the Boston Bruins Oct. 22 at Bridgestone Arena. He then made 27 saves as Nashville overcame a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Chicago Blackhawks Friday at United Center.
