It was a memorable season for Justin Thomas, to say the least. Just a few months ago, he was trying to recover from a back injury. On Sunday, he had a respectable finish at the BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club.

Thomas was among the 20 players who fell short of qualifying for the Tour Championship to cap off the FedExCup Playoffs, as only 30 golfers advanced. While he will not make the trip to East Lake Golf Club for the season-ending event, Thomas should hold his head high.

That is exactly what he did. He posted a heartfelt message on X following his exit in the BMW Championship, where he finished tied for 16th place at 6-under par.

“Well, my season ended a week sooner than I would’ve liked. I’m always one who doesn’t give myself much grace and am too hard on myself. While this year doesn’t feel much different, a part of me (albeit a small part) is proud of comfortably making it to the BMW Championship. Most of the season felt like I was one round or stretch of holes away from holding a trophy come Sunday,” said Thomas.

“It’s wild to think I’m a little over nine months removed from my microdiscectomy surgery, and I was very pleased with how everything in my body felt this season. A lot of hours and trust in my team to help me every step of the way.”
