PFL Tampa: Cyborg vs. Vieira start time

The PFL will be in Tampa, Florida on August 22. The main card starts at 9 p.m. ET, while the main event should begin around 11:30 p.m. ET/midnight, depending on how long the undercard fights last.
Cyborg (29-2, 1 NC), who made her MMA debut in 2005, enters the cage for what may be the last time. The Brazilian has held titles in five major promotions. The current PFL featherweight champion is on a nine-fight win streak.
The 41-year-old, who has been competing in boxing between MMA fights, has teased her retirement from cage fighting. A trailblazer, Cyborg has been known for exciting knockouts, which, when reflecting on her career, she’s proud to have accomplished.
“A lot of people didn’t believe in girls’ fights,” Cyborg said to the PFL via Sherdog. “‘Ah, girls fight terrible.’ I tried to show the opposite. I wanted to do exciting fights like the guys do exciting fights. Finish the fight. This is what motivated me.
“What I feel now, I feel very blessed. The sport changed my life. Not just because I am the champion, but I think it shows a lot of different ways to live my life.”
Vieira (16-5) was considered the next big contender in the UFC, beating the likes of Cat Zingano, Miesha Tate, and Holly Holm. The 34-year-old is 3-3 in her last six fights, making her PFL debut after being removed from the UFC roster in early 2026.
While she respects Cyborg, Vieira won’t let anything get in the way of her goal of holding gold.
“Simply put, this would be the happiest day of my life,” Vieira told MMA Junkie. “From the moment I got into the sport as a little girl, I’ve dreamt of being a world champion. And to become a world champion, doing so over someone that has held so many belts and has carried herself in such an amazing way in this sport, it would mean the world to me.”
