When it seemed everything was going to be positive news in Barcelona’s 3-0 victory over Getafe, the bitter note came right in the end as Fermin Lopez fell on the pitch at Estadi Johan Cruyff during stoppage time.
The midfielder clutched his left groin area in clear pain, triggering alarm.
Pending confirmation of whether it is a serious injury, Fermin’s setback overshadowed Barcelona’s celebrations.
Teammates and coach Hansi Flick quickly surrounded the player while doctor Ricard Pruna carried out an initial examination.
Now, according to SPORT, while Fermin now awaits medical tests to determine the extent of the damage to his left adductor, the outlook is pessimistic, and he could face several weeks on the sidelines.
Furthermore, it is well known that Flick tends to be cautious with player recoveries and rarely rushes their return to the pitch.

Although the club doctor reassured Flick through his gestures, everyone is anxious to know the extent of the injury to the 22-year-old star, who had come on in the 61st minute.
Fermin had played with his usual energy and dynamism, showing great efficiency in passing and completing three of the four dribbles he attempted, also trying his luck at goal, though without reward this time.
Flick had decided to rest him in the match against Getafe after the midfielder had started the previous two games, against Valencia and Newcastle.
The Spanish international had already overcome the tension of the transfer window, during which his name repeatedly appeared as a possible departure from Barcelona.
Fermin was seen leaving the pitch dejected and almost in tears, even as Flick embraced him, suggesting there may be some concern about the injury. A clearer picture should emerge today once he undergoes tests.
