Three members of the New England Patriots are set to begin training camp on the sidelines.
Edge defender Harold Landry and tight end C.J. Dippre were both placed on the physically unable to perform list (PUP) on Tuesday, with running back Terrell Jennings moving to the non-football injury/illness list (NFI). Despite those designations, all three remain on the Patriots’ active 90-man roster.

What those labels do show, however, is that the trio is not yet able to participate in practice. Once their statuses change, they can come off the respective lists at any point and immediately join their teammates on the fields behind Gillette Stadium.
Landry, 30, moves to PUP after already sitting out parts of New England’s offseason workout program. A non-participant during last month’s mandatory minicamp, the 2025 free agency pickup was hampered by a nagging knee injury over the second half of his first season with the club.
“This is all part of everyone having a little different plan,” head coach Mike Vrabel said about Landry during minicamp. “He is very involved, very heavily involved in the meetings and the workouts and in a leadership role. For him to take reps right now in the spring, I feel like is unnecessary. We will just keep working to make sure that he is ready to go when we need him.”
Dippre, 24, arrived in New England as a rookie free agent last season. Initially a practice squad player who finished the year on the active roster without seeing any game action, he did participate in minicamp without any obvious limitation. At points, the sophomore served as the next man up at tight end behind starter Hunter Henry and veteran Jack Westover.

Jennings, 25, also did not show any signs of injury during minicamp. In fact, the third-year man saw some reps as a part-time RB3 backing up Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson. Unlike Dippre, he did see some game action last year: the former UDFA played in seven games and carried the ball 23 times for 73 yards and a touchdown.
Landry, Dippre and Jennings were part of a select group of veterans reporting to the Patriots’ training camp on Tuesday. They were joined by the team’s rookies and quarterbacks.
The rest of the team’s roster will have to arrive in Foxborough by Friday. The first practice of this year’s training camp will take place at 10:15 a.m. ET the following day.
