Parker Retzlaff is nearing a locked spot in the Chase. Entering the 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Series regular-season finale at Daytona International Speedway, Retzlaff sits ninth in the standings with a 46-point advantage over the Chase bubble. While the driver of the No. 99 car isn’t safe, it is a fairly large cushion.

In the worst-case scenario, Retzlaff would wreck at Daytona and get jumped by four drivers. This seems like a long shot, but it shouldn’t be out of the equation. For now, Retzlaff has to maximize his day at Daytona, as there is a possibility that someone below the Chase bubble wins on Friday night.

More likely than not, Retzlaff will complete one of NASCAR’s biggest surprises of the 2026 season with a spot in the Chase at Daytona. It has been an amazing season for Retzlaff and the No. 99 team at Viking Motorsports, and Friday at Daytona could be the moment that everyone has been wating for all year.
