Spiranac had too many shanks on the course this week.
“I hit 6 cold hard shanks today on the golf course. I’m either about to quit golf or pull a full tin cup and my best round is right around the corner. Will report back,” she admitted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Golf fans encouraging Spiranac to stick with it
“I’m betting on a Tun Cup turnaround,” one fan wrote.
“Ya know, a shank is closer to a perfect shot than any other miss!” one fan added.
“I did the same thing Sunday. Birdied the first hole and went on a shank fest??? Usually have a really low key natural draw. Finally got it gone by the the 13 hole,” one fan added.
“I’m an expert on how to shank. Line up about 45 deg to the left of target and swing as hard as you can…” one fan added.

“It’s an insanely crazy game. Best round coming…” one fan added.
“Do not quit. That is not in your nature. We all have bad days. Praying tomorrow is better for you,” one fan added.
Golf can be a very, very frustrating game, and even the best go through it. Spiranac will likely come out better on the other side.
