The Green Bay Packers will start organized team activities (OTAs) next Tuesday, May 26th. While the Packers have already begun their offseason workouts, this gives us the first opportunity to hear from coaches and players about practices for the first time in 2026.

It’s still a long way until minicamp on June 9th and training camp in late July, but we should get more info about where the Packers’ roster stands beginning with OTAs.

With that in mind, what are you hoping to learn from these practices?

Considering the non-contact nature of OTAs, I think the most interesting thing we can learn is who the green dot is going to be defensively. New defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon runs a scheme that played a decent amount of one-off-ball-linebacker sets in Arizona. Generally, the linebacker left on the field is the Mike, who in Green Bay will be Zaire Franklin, meaning that Edgerrin Cooper would be on the sideline for these snaps.

If Franklin is the green dot, the player who Gannon is calling plays into, we should get clarity on whether there will be packages where Cooper will be on the bench. If the Packers don’t green dot the Mike, they can give the role to a safety like Xavier McKinney or Evan Williams, which would leave the door open to Cooper playing the one-linebacker looks. Personally, I think that’s an important piece to the 2026 puzzle.
