Nottingham Forest look set to have just one injury absence for their upcoming match against Arsenal, with their backup goalkeeper working to return from a hamstring problem.

Arsenal and Nottingham Forest are in very different situations with regards to injuries ahead of Wednesday’s match between the two clubs.

Mikel Arteta’s side are going through somewhat of a crisis, with all three of the team’s first-choice forwards picking up injuries, as well as backup striker (or indeed winger) Gabriel Jesus.

Takehiro Tomiyasu is also out for the season, though Arsenal are much better stocked at the back following the return to fitness of Ben White and all the left-backs. Though the Gunners will be without one of those left-backs on Wednesday, with Myles Lewis-Skelly serving a suspension.

By contrast, Nottingham Forest are likely to have their full first-choice starting lineup against Arsenal, barring any late omissions.

The only Forest player currently struggling with an injury is Carlos Miguel, the team’s backup goalkeeper. Miguel hasn’t played a minute of Premier League action this season, and he injured his hamstring in an FA Cup game against Exeter City earlier this month.

Even that isn’t a particularly significant blow, with Forest also having experienced goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey to call upon for their bench options. Matz Sels remains their first-choice goalkeeper, and he’s also fully fit.

Nottingham Forest’s season so far has been very impressive, with the team remaining third in the Premier League table even at this relatively late stage.

There’s still a long way to go to finish in the top four (or five) and secure a Champions League qualification spot, but it looks like they have luck on their side right now.

No other club in the entire league has fewer than two injuries, and Forest will want to make the most of their unusual situation.
