The Texas A&M women’s golf team won’t get much time to ease into the 2026-27 season.
The fourth-ranked Aggies open Monday at the Folds of Honor Collegiate in Grand Haven, Michigan, returning to American Dunes Golf Club as defending champions and the highest-ranked team in a field featuring three top-10 programs.

Texas A&M will send out a five-player lineup built around two of the country’s top amateurs, Vanessa Borovilos and Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio.
Borovilos enters the season ranked No. 18 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking after a breakout 2025-26 campaign.
The Canadian posted a 71.06 scoring average, the second-lowest single-season mark in Texas A&M history, won twice individually and earned WGCA First Team All-America honors.
Fernández García-Poggio gives the Aggies another proven veteran. Ranked No. 29 in the world amateur standings, she produced four top-five finishes last season and earned All-SEC First Team recognition.

Then there’s Brynn Kort, who already knows how to attack American Dunes.
Kort tied for second at last year’s Folds of Honor Collegiate, shooting 3-under 213 as a freshman while helping Texas A&M erase a three-shot final-round deficit and capture the team championship.
She later earned a spot on the All-SEC Freshman Team.
Freshman Emerie Schartz will make her collegiate debut after arriving as the No. 6 recruit in the 2026 class, while Louise Reau rounds out the Aggies’ lineup.
Reau is beginning her second season at Texas A&M after previously earning Sun Belt Golfer of the Year honors twice.

The competition won’t be light.
No. 6 Duke and No. 8 Florida State join Texas A&M as top-10 teams, with No. 18 Oklahoma State, No. 27 Ohio State, No. 29 Arizona and No. 30 Kansas also in the 12-team field.
Texas A&M begins the opening round Monday morning, with three rounds scheduled through Wednesday.

For head coach Gerrod Chadwell, the goal isn’t simply to start the season well. The Aggies won five tournaments last season and earned a No. 1 seed for NCAA Regional play.

Now one of college golf’s deepest teams gets an immediate chance to show it can pick up where it left off.
