Texas A&M defensive end Shemar Stewart may have made himself some extra money in the 2025 NFL draft with his performance this week at Senior Bowl practices.

One NFL personnel evaluator told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler that Stewart “stamped himself as the best player” in Mobile.

Fowler added that Stewart elicited the most “wow” responses from league executives.

Stewart could be a tricky evaluation for NFL teams. He’s got all of the physical tools to be a top-tier draft prospect at just over 6’5″ with an 83.5-inch wingspan.

The on-field production from Stewart left a lot to be desired. He recorded 12 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks in 37 games over three seasons at Texas A&M. The 21-year-old has tremendous pedigree as a 5-star college recruit and No. 9 overall player in the 2022 class, per 247Sports.

In some ways, this is similar to the discussion around Travon Walker leading up to the 2022 draft. His physical gifts were obvious and he was a 5-star college prospect, but he only had 9.5 sacks in three years at Georgia.

One key difference is Walker got elevated to being the No. 1 pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Stewart might end up being a first-round selection, but it’s probably safe to assume he won’t be the top pick by the Tennessee Titans.

B/R’s NFL scouting department has Stewart ranked as the 64th-best prospect in the 2025 class, though the most recent big board was released on Jan. 2. His impressive performance this week suggests he will move up when the rankings get updated.

Teams picking in the back half of the first round that are looking for pass-rush help on the defensive line could give Stewart a long look as they go through the pre-draft process over the next two months.

There are no shortage of teams that could use a high-upside pass-rusher in the first round, including the Atlanta Falcons (No. 15 pick), Cincinnati Bengals (No. 17), Seattle Seahawks (No. 18), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (No. 19) and Washington Commanders (No. 29).
