The Nashville Predators (22-32-7, 51 points) host the Seattle Kraken (26, 32-4, 56 points) Thursday at Bridgestone Arena.

The Predators are coming off a 6-3 win over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday, powered by three-point performances from Ryan O’Reilly (2 goals, 1 assist) and Steven Stamkos (1 goal, 2 assists).

Since Tuesday’s win, Predators general manager Barry Trotz has traded forward Tommy Novak and defenseman Luke Schenn to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Michael Bunting and a fourth-round pick in 2026. Bunting remains on IR after undergoing an appendectomy last week will not be in the Predators’ lineup until next week at the earliest.

The Kraken also made a trade Wednesday, sending forwards Oliver Bjorkstrand and Yanni Gourde, defenseman Kyle Aucoin and a fifth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for Michael Eyssimont, a second-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, a conditional first-round pick in 2026 and a conditional first-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft.

Both Nashville and Seattle are in seventh place in their respective divisions and currently sit outside of the playoff picture in the Western Conference.

The Predators claimed forward Jakub Vrana (Washington Capitals) and defenseman Jordan Oesterle (Boston Bruins) off of waivers Thursday afternoon, but neither suited up against the Kraken.

First Period (NSH 1, SEA 1)

The Kraken started with a strong offensive zone shift and got rewarded with the opening goal just 32 seconds into the game. Adam Larsson drifted into the slot and finished off a rebound from a Vince Dunn shot to give Seattle an early 1-0 lead.

After giving up the first goal, however, the Predators were all over the Kraken in their zone. Nashville finally capitalized on a turnover by Dunn, and Filip Forsberg rifled a shot past Joey Daccord to make it 1-1 at the 7:15 mark.
