The Denver Broncos have one of the best offensive lines in the National Football League. The unit is slated to return every starter from the 2025 season, as well as several key depth players and recent fourth-round pick Kage Casey. With few spots up for grabs, the coming training camp battle to round out the group will be one of the most intense this summer.
One player competing for a backup spot on the Broncos’ roster is first-year offensive lineman Nash Jones. His collegiate career began at Incarnate Word in 2020 where he started six games at right tackle. The next two seasons, Jones would be a fixture for their offensive line and start 27 games at left tackle. In 2023, he transferred to Texas State and was a five-game starter at left tackle. During his senior year in 2024, he was a 12 game starter at left guard.

He was a 30 visit for the Broncos leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft. He signed with the Los Angeles Chargers after going undrafted and was released in their roster cuts in August of 2025. The Broncos added him to their practice squad last December, and he signed a future contract this past January.

Nash Jones’ 2026 outlook with the Broncos
Experience and versatility are something Head Coach Sean Payton and Assistant Head Coach Zach Strief value in their offensive linemen. Jones’ collegiate history shows he is capable of playing multiple positions at a high level. However, he faces a big challenge trying to make the final 53-man roster.

The Broncos have allocated nine spots to the offensive line over the past few seasons. Garret Bolles, Mike McGlinchey, Ben Powers, Luke Wattenberg, and Quinn Meinerz are the team’s top five. I’d expect Alex Palczewski, Frank Crum, and Kage Casey to be in line for three of their reserve spots. If they opt to keep the same number of linemen as past seasons that leaves just one shot up for grabs.
My gut tells me that the final spot on the offensive line will go to a player that has experience at the pivot. While Jones worked out in that capacity during the pre-draft circuit, he has little (if any) in-game experience at the position. That leads me to believe they will go in another direction to finalize the offensive line for the 2026 season.
Final Thoughts
I’d say there is a slim chance Jones makes the final 53-man roster. However, he seems like an ideal candidate for the team’s 16-man practice squad. He has experience at multiple spots and that’s always ideal with developmental offensive lineman.
