The fans are out at Pocono Raceway until the sunshine today. Campers are by the many, radios are tuned, and the drivers are burning rubber around the historic 2.5-mile ‘Tricky Triangle.’ Who is going to win the race: The Great American Getaway 400? Time will tell, but qualifying helps us gain some early insights.
Denny Hamlin earned pole position for the race, which will now go green at 1:00 p.m. ET after rain forced a scheduling change. Kyle Larson will join him on the front row. That matters a ton, where Pocono is a hard-to-pass racetrack. Clean air is paramount, and as for those drivers who did not qualify well, they will be forced to have dominant days on pit road to make up for the delta.

Key Takeaways
Carson Hocevar spun as he exited turn 2, the ‘tunnel turn,’ and spun out. He was going so quickly that Hocevar qualified in the top 25, but amid needed repairs, he will start from the back of the field.
Bubba Wallace spun in turn 2 moments after Hocevar had during the qualifying session. His damage was much worse, and ultimately, no qualifying time was ever posted by Wallace, especially since his spin occurred as he was coming to the start of his qualifying lap rather than at the finish.
