NASCAR’s Silly Season may be heating up sooner than expected.
EasySportz and Lead Lap Racing have learned from multiple industry sources that there is a real possibility Noah Gragson could be driving for a different organization in 2027, which became a storyline to the public this week.

Gragson joined Sirius XM NASCAR to discuss his run-in with Kevin Magnussen at Naval Base Coronado on Sunday, where fans began to learn of his evolving plans for next season.
Fans quickly became aware of a possible shake up for Gragson, after hearing his explanation for not punching the former F1 driver running a NASCAR one-off.
Gragson hinted at long-term consequences from his team (FRM) if he threw the punch, which can only be insinuated as being released from his driver duties mid-season, rather than finishing the year with FRM.
While no agreement has been finalized and no official announcement is imminent, Gragson’s future at Front Row Motorsports has become a topic of increasing discussion throughout the garage.

As always, plans can change quickly in NASCAR, and several moving pieces remain unresolved.
Gragson currently pilots the No. 4 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for Front Row Motorsports after previously spending time with JR Motorsports, Beard Motorsports, Hendrick Motorsports, Legacy Motor Club and Stewart-Haas Racing before the organization’s transition into Haas Factory Team. Now roughly a season and a half into his tenure at Front Row, the veteran appears to be one of several drivers whose future remains fluid.
One destination that continues to surface in industry conversations is Richard Childress Racing.
EasySportz first reported several weeks ago that Gragson could emerge as a candidate for RCR’s No. 33 Cup Series entry, the organization’s rebranded flagship car following the heartbreaking passing of Kyle Busch.

Additionally, EasySportz correctly predicted Josh Berry to leave the Wood Bro’s for 2027 and Jesse Love to replace him.
Austin Hill currently occupies that seat for the remainder of the season, placing RCR in a position where it could either promote Hill full-time or pursue an experienced outside driver.
Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic first reported that RCR’s sponsors, who were on the Kyle Busch car, like the prospect of someone such as Gragson or Hill piloting their car, due to age and marketability.
Busch was known for having several bold sponsors, which included Zone! nicotine pouches, Rebel Bourbon, 3CHI Delta 8 and more. Those sponsors would prefer someone 25 or older to pilot their car.

Gragson’s history with Bass Pro Shops during his successful JR Motorsports days only adds another layer to the conversation, given the strong ties to the outdoor brand at RCR. Sponsorship relationships often play a significant role in modern NASCAR, making existing partnerships worth monitoring as the driver market develops.
The picture becomes even more complicated when looking throughout the entire RCR organization.
With Jesse Love now confirmed to be leaving the Chevrolet pipeline for the Wood Brothers’ No. 21 next season, an opening exists within RCR’s O’Reilly Series program. EasySportz has also consistently heard that Jeb Burton is expected to return to Richard Childress Racing in some capacity, making him a name to watch for one of those opportunities.
Meanwhile, Austin Dillon has long been mentioned within the industry as a potential future executive and eventual successor to Richard Childress. No timetable for such a transition has been announced, and Dillon remains under contract as a Cup Series driver, with no full changes on that front right now. However, should that role evolve in the coming years, it would naturally create another high-profile opening within the organization.

As things stand today, at least two seats across RCR’s Cup and O’Reilly programs appear poised for movement, with the possibility of additional changes depending on how the organization’s long-term plans develop.
Several scenarios remain in play.
If Richard Childress Racing ultimately selects Gragson for its Cup program, Hill would likely remain in RCR’s O’Reilly operation. If Hill earns the Cup promotion instead, Gragson could become a logical candidate elsewhere within the organization while awaiting another premier Cup opportunity.
