Shane van Gisbergen cruised to his fifth victory of the NASCAR Cup Series season in the Bank of America ROVAL 400 on Oct. 5 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway road course, but the playoff focus was on two cars outside the top 10.
Joey Logano survived to advance by four points over Ross Chastain, after Chastain lost four spots on the final lap including a last-turn spin with Denny Hamlin.
Logano finished 20th, with Chastain at 21st. The No. 1 Trackhouse Racing team had two poor pit stops to hurt track position, including a penalty in the final 30 laps.
