Ahead of the 2026 Cup Series Chase, NASCAR is introducing a unique fan promotion. For every time a driver swears on the radio during the Chase, NASCAR will add money to a “swear jar” with the opportunity for one lucky fan to win the grand total at the end of the season.
During any NASCAR race, drivers tend to get frustrated. Whether it is because their car is not up to speed, there was an issue on pit road, or problems with another driver on-track, the team radio audios are often filled with expletives.

NASCAR drivers have also shouted expletives in celebration after they have won a race. For this year’s Chase, good or bad, fans have an opportunity to capitalize on that.
NASCAR ‘Swear Jar’ promotion explained
For every time a driver is heard saying a swear word during the Chase, NASCAR throws $5 into the “swear jar.” If a fan can guess the total amount of curse words said at the conclusion of the Chase, they win the entire pot of money.
Fans can enter at NASCAR.com/SwearJar. Here is what NASCAR’s social media team wrote about the promotion:
“Others fine, we pay. Every bleep builds the pot! And **** it, one fan will win it all. Hell yeah! Enter at https://NASCAR.com/SwearJar.”

The introduction of this fan promotion has NASCAR social media buzzing. Corey LaJoie, former Cup Series driver and current NASCAR analyst, tried to guess the amount of times a curse word would be used.
“Here’s my race car driver math guesstimation. I’ll set the average cuss word per driver per race (ACWPDPR) at +/- 6. Some under, some ([Ryan Blaney]) WAY over. 10(36×6) =2,160,” he wrote.
Many joked that Ryan Blaney was going to be the one filling up NASCAR’s swear jar the most due to his frequent cursing on the radio.
“Ryan Blaney’s going to need a bigger jar,” one X user wrote.

NASCAR Cup Series Chase begins at Darlington
Ten races will decide who will become the NASCAR Cup Series champion in 2026. Ahead of this season, NASCAR reintroduced The Chase, with the highest points scorer of the 16-driver Chase field earning the championship at season’s end.
The Chase kicks off this Sunday night at Darlington Raceway with the Cook Out Southern 500. Denny Hamlin, seeking his first Cup championship in his 21st full-time season, enters the 10-race postseason as the top seed.
Ryan Blaney enters the Chase second in the standings, aiming for his second Cup title. Also seeking their first Cup championships are Tyler Reddick, Ty Gibbs, Chase Briscoe and Christopher Bell, who rank 3rd-6th, respectively, to begin the Chase.
